May 31, 2020 UPDATE:

From Our Pastor

I'm writing a few lines on this Pentecost evening while the joy is still fresh in my heart after our outdoor Mass today. I was reminded of what Bishop Jenky said when he first came:"Isn't it great to be Catholic!" This was a great day for our Catholic community to come together on the grounds of our Catholic school for an outdoor Mass that celebrated when the Church made herself visible to the world. We were able to experience a visible unity which is part of the consolation of the Holy Spirit. My heartfelt thanks to all who joined us and especially everyone who helped to pull this off. A special word of gratitude is due to our Parochial Vicar, Father Rose. He put his mind and heart into the myriad details so that this would be a sacred celebration for those present and for those who watched from home. This is a day to remember and recall when inevitable moments of discouragement or discontent come our way. And what a beautiful day our Creator gave us! Pray for similar weather for next Sunday.

MORE GOOD NEWS!  A seminarian from our diocese, Paul Rupert, has been assigned here for the summer. He arrives June 10th and leaves July 26th. More details about him will be forthcoming but meantime do not wait to spiritually adopt him by praying for him that he will be blessed by his time with us and helped in his discernment and formation.

As we say farewell to the month of May - Our Lady's month - do not let up on praying the Rosary. It is the "weapon of choice" of countless saints and just what us poor sinners need to face the battles of our times. Now we welcome  June - the month of the Sacred Heart. Here's a simple prayer to ponder and practice that comes from The Apostolate For Family Consecration:

All for the Sacred and Eucharisitc Heart of Jesus. All through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. All in union with St Joseph. Amen.
